May 2005:

This month I had come across the Mirinda Stand.  Another place to feed your pets free food.  It has been added to the Neopets Dailies section to the right.  Also 'Freebies For You!' that gives out 2,000 nps and one food item for each of your pets has been continuing on a monthly basis.  It is not promised to continue forever but make sure you get your freebies monthly while they last.

Week 1 (3/28 - 4/1):  If you visit the Rainbow Pool, you will find that Nimmos can now be painted Orange, Boris can now be painted Pirate and Techos can now be painted Brown while Jubjubs and Lupes can now be painted Maraquan.  Carmas, on the other hand, can now be painted Fire, Ghost and Cloud in the Petpet Puddle. Aside from that, Warfs can be painted Maraquan while Snorkles, Triffins, Babycas and Snicklebeasts can now be painted Sketch. The random theme this week is Caylis and Isca so we have new toys, furniture and an avatar dedicated to them. There are four new potions available in Kayla’s Shop. The Toy Shop has some MSPP themed toys, new Hasee themed books and four new Crumpets are available in the Bakery. For this week’s avatar, we have the Wheel of Misfortune avatar. Maraqua has been very busy these past few days with another shop opening selling Maraquan Battledome items. There is a new game in the Deserted Fairground: Cork Gun Gallery. The 5th and 6th installment of the Curse of Maraqua plot has been released, the dastardly Bruce from the Curse of Maraqua has been added to the Gallery of Evil while Cylara is now part of the Gallery of Heroes. Aside from all these, there are new shopkeepers, backgrounds, blogs, buddy icons and art.

Week 2 (4/4 - 4/8):  We start off this week with an early celebration of Shoyru Day. As a gift for Shoyrus, they can now be painted Royal at the Rainbow Pool. You may also paint your Draiks Royal. Coursing through the Petpet Puddle, Babycas can now be painted Red, Pirate, Maraqua, and Mutant. Our random theme for this week is the Nova and there are new Nova themed foods, furniture and Battledome items to choose from. Other new items for this week include Doughnut themed furniture, Maraquan grooming items, four new Booktastic Books, Lost Desert items, Leeble themed toys and another set of Seashells from the Collectable Sea Shell shop. Gorix has been added to the Gallery of Heroes and the 7th and 8th chapter of the Curse of Maraqua has just gone live. For new avatars this week, we have the Dark Nova, Meepit Juice game and Tough Shoyru avatars. Aside from all these, there are new shopkeepers, blogs, backgrounds, fun images, buddy icons, and art to celebrate the theme and special days this week.

Week 3 (4/11 - 4/15):  The Neopets Team just announced that they are planning for another WAR so stock up on Battledome items. Shoyrus may now be painted Skunk and Cybunnies may be painted Maraquan while Peophins and Techos can now be painted Grey at the Rainbow Pool. As for Krawk Day which started early this week, Krawks can now be painted Orange, Shadow and Starry. At the Petpet Puddle, Blobagus can be painted Grey, Robot, Plushie and Blue. Gallions, Pawkeets, Woolypapiths and Warfs may now be painted Grey in celebration of Grey Day. New toys with a traditional look at the Toy Shop are available as well as Captain Scarblade themed toys for being this week’s random theme. New Foods as well as Battledome items for Krawk Day is now available. We also have some tacky Scarblade merchandise and furnitures. Four new foods have ben created with a Grey theme. Commander Gormos is the newest addition to the Gallery of Heroes. Codebreakers is now part of the Game Graveyard while a new one is born: Time Tunnel. For security purposes, birth date will be asked to those who have not logged in for at least 6 months. We have new avatars in line with Captain Scarblade and Grey Day. The 9th installment of the Curse of Maraqua has been released. Aside from all these, there are new shopkeepers, blogs, backgrounds, buddy icons, neogreetings and art to celebrate the theme and special days this week.

Week 4 (4/18 - 4/22):  We celebrate Kougra Day this week. As part of the celebration, Kougras can now be painted Striped, Cloud and Grey at the Rainbow Pool. The Faerie Paint Brush can now be used on Pteriis and Yurbles while Jetsams can now be painted a bright Pink. Two hard-to-get Battledome Items for Kougras are now available. Coursing through the Petpet Puddle, Zomutts, Snowbunnies and Niptors can now be painted Faerie while three new Petpets from Maraqua can be seen swimming around. A new Maraqua can be seen at the Explore Map that includes an underwater Battledome. The new Maraquan map also includes the new Kelp, an underwater restaurant. Chia Bomber 2 has been released to replace the old one. The Chia Bomber avatar will still be available from Chia Bomber 2. The 10th and 11th part of the Curse of Maraqua storyline has been released. New Kougra themed Books and Booktastic Books are now available. Four new foods from the Alien Aishas and Kougra Day foods are offered. You may now obtain a Bruce Plushie and a Pirate Jelly from the Smuggler’s Cove. Two new avatars are obtainable this week: one from the Kougra Day celebration and the other from the Kelp opening, both of which are random events. The number of wishes granted each day from the Wishing Well has been increased.  Additionally, there are new shopkeepers, backgrounds, blogs, buddy icons and art.

Week 5 (4/25 - 4/29):  The Rainbow Pool may now be used to paint Kougras a bright Disco while Cybunnies can now be painted Checkered, Cloud and Sketch. Quiggles got makeovers this week. The Striped, male and female Quiguki, and the Island Quiggles have been updated. The Red, Green, Yellow and Blue Myncis have also been updated. Skymooks, Calabats, Soreens, Petoots and Urchullcan now be adopted as Petpets for your Neopets to look after. At the Petpet Puddle, Catamaras can now be painted Plushie, Fire, Ghost and Grey. The 12th part of the Curse of Maraqua story has been released. As part of the celebration for Cybunny Day, 20,000 Cybunnies have been released this week and new Cybunny themed books and toys are now offered in their respective shops. A Pirate Pizza has been seen in the Smuggler’s Cove. The week wouldn’t be complete without new avatars and for this week, we have one featuring a Pink Cybunny and another featuring the newly-launched game Meepit vs. Feepit. Three new Slushies are available. Reminders from the Neopets Team, you will now be sent a little reminder if you forget to claim your newbie pack. As a result, some people with older accounts that did not claim their newbie packs will also get this message. By popular demand, you can now vote on some of the April Fool's Day pets to decide which one should be made into a real Neopet. The Stuff page has been updated. Additionally, there are new shop-keepers, backgrounds, blogs, buddy icons, neogreetings and art.
